We are delighted to confirm details of our next in-person Networking Day on Thursday, 25th May 2023, exclusively for BBSN member schools and agents. Come along and meet new and existing partner agents, chat to colleagues in other schools, learn about the latest market intelligence and developments in our sector, and take the opportunity to look around another boarding school. We will also provide a demonstration of our new mobile-friendly members' portal which is being launched later this term. A representative from Fragomen will attend to present an update on student visas and immigration.

The event will take place on Thursday, 25th May 2023 and will be hosted by one of our member schools, RMS for Girls, which is in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire. The school has excellent transport links with a train and tube station within a 10-minute walk from the school, providing regular tubes and trains into London. Rickmansworth station is on the Metropolitan line.

For details of trains go to: www.thetrainline.com
For tube information go to: https://tfl.gov.uk/tube/route/metropolitan

If you are responsible for international admissions, recruitment or marketing, do join us for an enjoyable and informative day of Contacts, Knowledge and Support.

Many valuable connections have been fostered at our previous Networking Days and many agent visits to schools are generated as a result of the connections made on the day.

The event offers excellent value for money at only £135 + vat per person which includes lunch and refreshments. There are approximately 80 places and we aim to have a good balance of school staff and agents at the event.

This Networking Day is an opportunity not to be missed! We recommend early booking to avoid disappointment.

Benefits of attending

  CONTACTS

  1. Meet agents:
A valuable opportunity to meet face to face with quality, experienced agents recruiting from a range of international recruitment markets. All participating agents will be BBSN Approved Agents, having been carefully selected, reference-checked and interviewed before they are able to join our Network. There will be unscheduled networking opportunities over refreshments on arrival, during lunch and in the afternoon. You will be able to put faces to names, catch up with existing partners and expand your agent network. Agents and school staff will have different coloured lanyards to help identify them and we will provide a delegate list with photos in advance.

  2. Meet colleagues:
The chance to chat with staff from other schools who have similar roles and who are all facing similar challenges.

"A superbly organised event full of interesting and relatable information. We bounced out full of ideas and vigour! "

  2.

  3. Understand:

Find out what’s happening on the ground from experienced agent members in a Panel Discussion and take the opportunity to ask questions in an open Q&A session.

  4.
  5. View:

Enjoy a tour of the host school, giving you a rare insight into another boarding school.

"I picked up lots of information - both from the excellent presentations and from other delegates - and I'm raring to go! "

  SUPPORT

  1. Talk:

Meet and catch up with the BBSN team, ask questions, pick up tips, and set up support meetings/training to get the most from your membership.

    Encourage:
Chat and learn from staff in other schools. This is especially valuable for those who are new in post or for those who have not been to in-person events for a long time and have missed the support of colleagues in other schools.

"Being new to the sector and the admissions role, I found the day very beneficial and walked away feeling very confident about moving forward – especially with regards to working with agents. "

How will the Networking Work?

Unlike the British Boarding School Workshops we run, there will not be scheduled meetings with agents. The purpose of the Networking days is to provide a chance to catch up with agents and staff from other schools and network in a less structured way. However, you can maximise the opportunity by using the delegate list we will provide prior to the event to message agents you wish to meet. You can also read their profiles on the portal to research their companies and recruitment markets.

Nearer to the event, we will provide you with some tips on how to make the most of these networking opportunities and, on the day, BBSN staff will be on hand to assist by introducing and connecting the attendees.  Agents and school staff will have different coloured lanyards at the event, which also helps to identify those you wish to meet.
