We are delighted to confirm details of our in-person Networking Days, exclusively for BBSN member schools and agents. Come along and meet new and existing partner agents, chat to colleagues in other schools, and learn about the latest market intelligence and developments in our sector.

The events will take place in June 2022 at the following host schools:

  • Wednesday 8th June - Monkton Combe School, Bath, Somerset

  • Wednesday 15th June - Wrekin College, Wellington, Shropshire

  • Thursday 16th June - Bede’s School, Hailsham, East Sussex

If you are responsible for international admissions, recruitment or marketing, do join us for an enjoyable and informative day of Contacts, Knowledge and Support.

Many valuable connections have been fostered at our previous Networking Days and many agent visits to schools are generated as a result of the events.

The event offers excellent value for money at only £125 + vat per person which includes lunch and refreshments. There are approximately 100 places at each venue and we aim to have a good balance of school staff and agents at each event. We recommend early booking to avoid disappointment.

The Networking Days are an opportunity not to be missed!

Benefits of attending

  1. Meet agents:
A valuable opportunity to meet face to face with quality, experienced agents recruiting from a range of international recruitment markets. All participating agents will be BBSN members, having been carefully selected, reference-checked and interviewed before they are able to join our Network. There will be unscheduled networking opportunities over refreshments on arrival, during lunch and in the afternoon. You will be able to put faces to names, catch up with existing partners and expand your agent network. Agents and school staff will have different coloured lanyards to help identify them and we will provide a delegate list with photos in advance.
  2. Meet colleagues:
The chance to chat with staff from other schools who have similar roles and who are all facing similar challenges.

"A superbly organised event full of interesting and relatable information. We bounced out full of ideas and vigour! "
Previous attendee, 2019

  1. Learn:

Suzanne Rowse, BBSN Director, will present ‘Your Essential Toolkit for 2022/23 Recruitment’, including the very latest market intelligence to feed into your international recruitment plans, and how to use BBSN services to raise your school’s profile and increase your boarding enquiries.

  3. Understand:

Find out what’s happening on the ground from experienced agent members in a Panel Discussion and take the opportunity to ask questions in an open Q&A session.

  5. View:

Enjoy a tour of the host school, giving you a rare insight into another boarding school.

"I picked up lots of information - both from the excellent presentations and from other delegates - and I'm raring to go! "
Previous attendee, 2019

  1. Talk:

Meet and catch up with the BBSN team, ask questions, pick up tips, and set up support meetings/training to get the most from your membership.

Chat and learn from staff in other schools. This is especially valuable for those who are new in post or for those who have not been to in-person events for a long time and have missed the support of colleagues in other schools.

"Being new to the sector and the admissions role, I found the day very beneficial and walked away feeling very confident about moving forward – especially with regards to working with agents. "

Sample Itinerary

(please note there will be slight variations to timings at each school)

  • 10am – arrival and refreshments: a chance for school and agent delegates to network and catch up with existing partners and meet new ones. Networking will not be scheduled and we will provide a delegate list in advance with photos to help you plan your day and target agents you wish to meet.
  • 11am - Presentation for school staff: Your Essential Toolkit for 2022/23 Recruitment. Tours of the school for agents.
  • 12.30 – 1.30pm - Networking lunch for school and agent delegates.

  • 1.30pm – 3pm – Panel discussion and Q&A with agent representatives from key markets.

  • 3pm – Refreshments and a final networking opportunity for all delegates. School staff will have an opportunity to have a tour of the host school before departing.

How will the Networking Work?

Unlike the British Boarding School Workshops we run, there will not be scheduled meetings with agents. The purpose of the Networking days is to provide a chance to mingle with agents and staff from other schools and network in a less structured way. However, you can maximise the opportunity by using the delegate list we will provide prior to the event to message agents you wish to meet. You can also read their profiles on the portal to research their companies and recruitment markets.

Nearer to the event, we will provide you with some tips on how to make the most of these networking opportunities and, on the day, BBSN staff will be on hand to assist by introducing and connecting the attendees.  Agents and school staff have will different coloured lanyards at the event, which also helps to identify those you wish to meet.
