Will I have to hand over my list of agents?
No. If one of your agents is not on the database you can ask us to consider them for inclusion but this is up to you.
Will my profile be visible to other schools?
What does an ‘Approved’ agent mean?
We have been running the British Boarding Schools Workshop since 2006 and it is a business networking forum for schools and agents. Before they are allowed to attend, all the agents are carefully selected, screened and reference-checked. We take this role very seriously and this is how we have built up a reputation for running a high quality event with professional, reputable agents. These agents have formed the basis of Connected and we will continue to expand the network of agents but all agents go through the same rigourous process.
Will you monitor agents?
Yes. We will invite member schools to give us feedback if they experience a problem with an agent. Agents will have a code of conduct to adhere to. We want to enhance standards in our sector.
How can I find agents on the database?
You can search in a variety of ways such as country they are located in, countries they recruit from, number of pupils placed, educational programmes of interest. You can then view detailed profiles about the company and its staff.
How can I send messages to the agents?
You can send a message to all of the agents or to targeted groups. For example, you can inform agents in target countries that you have vacancies in certain year groups or update them about news. The benefit is that you can target messages to different groups of agents. in some cases it is appropriate to send a message to all agents on the system, for example, if your school has a new Head or has opened a new facility. In this case you can post a message and it immediately gets sent out to all agents via a notification in their email box.
How does the system work if I only work with my own selection of agents?
You can set up one or many groups of your agents, for example, by country or performance related. Then you can quickly send messages to those groups and post news items to your profile which your agents will see.
